122. a. For γίγᾱς (from γιγγαντ-ς) and ὀδούς (from ὀδοντ-ς) see 53 and 28.b; so in the dative plural.

b. But many stems in -οντ form the nominative singular as in λέων, omitting , dropping -τ-, and lengthening -ο- to -ω-.

123. All noun stems in -ντ are masculine.
