1. Inter tot ac tanta beneficia, quibus mē semper ōrnāre cūrāstī, Serēnissima Prīnceps, ea fuit dīvīnī tuī animī līberālitās, hoc in prīmīs meō pectorī, quoad vīxerō, manēbit īnsitum, quod, dum tē ā iūcundissimīs studiīs, in quibus nostrā operā ūtēbāre, graviōrēs cūrae āvocābant, litterārum ōtium et dēstinātum ad id locum mihi ultrō concesserās, ubi tantō sūdōre tamque indēfessīs vigiliīs variārum linguārum atque aliārum artium conquīsītam ērudītiōnem, et recolerem, et in diēs maiōrī cum foenore locuplētārem.
2. In cuius reī symbolum “Duārum Virginum Colloquium” mihi nūper recognitum Tuae Celsitūdinī offēre nunc statuī. Eius sānē argūmentum est utrane sit vīta beātior: aulicane an prīvāta et extrā urbānōs tumultūs, velut sōlitāria.
3. Utriusque sententiam sapientissimōrum virōrum dictīs comprobāre atque impugnāre nītimur, paucīs admodum ex Minervā nostrā interpositīs. Tum quod imbēcillēs ad id vīrēs nostrās plānē esse nōn ignōrem, tum etiam ut, quōrum doctrīnam ab ipsīs paene incūnābulīs voluimus, in medium prōferāmus, ac videat quīcumque lēget meam, quantulacumque est, ērudītiōnem mē iīs auctōribus dēbēre fatērīque ingenuē dēbitum.
4. Candidī animī (inquit ille) est ingenuē fatērī per quōs prōfēcerīs. Accēdit quod sī ex ūberrimā illōrum cōpiā quantum frūctūs dēbuissem dēcerpere nōn valuī, nōverim tamen mē unquam solvendō nōn esse quod dēbeō: cum ingenuē fatear nē minimam quidem exūberantissimae illōrum scientiae guttam adbibisse, nēdum illōs plēnē imitārī unquam posse praesūmere.
