Daedalus calyx krater fragment

Roughly triangular fragment of red-figure pottery. A bare-chested, bearded Daedalus cradles the body of his son Icarus. Daedalus wears a patterned, flowing garment. His wings are attached by ropes over his shoulders. The image of Icarus has been damaged so that only the outline remains. One of his arms dangles.
    Annotations

Fragment of an Apulian red-figure calyx krater featuring Daedalus and his dead son Icarus.
