Phineus stands to the left of an offering table. His hands are raised in supplication. He is bearded and bald on top, with curls hanging down the back of his head. He wears a headband, long-sleeve chiton and mantle. Behind him his scepter stands upright and leaning slightly, as if against a wall. The tabletop is covered with offerings, part of which hangs over the side.

Phineus offering to the gods. The word "Theoi" is inscribed in front of his mouth. Attic red-figure neck amphora, found in Nola, Italy. Attributed to the Painter of the Yale Lekythos. British Museum 1867,0508.1113.
