Etruscan Bronze Mirror

Back of a bronze mirror, the metal has formed a green patina. Etched on it are the figures of two men. Left, a nude young man, his left foot resting on a rock, leans forward to grasp the handle of an amphora with his right hand. Across from him an older bearded man wearing a chlamys drinks from a double-handled cup in his left hand. In his right, he holds a staff or spear. A small fountain sits between them.

An Etrsucan bronz mirror, possible featuring Orpheus and Lynceus. The inscription, in Etruscan, read Lunc Urphen. Musée du Louvre inventory number MND 265, catalogue number Br 1726.
