Ink and marker on paper

Uxor image by Juliet Burns

Pen and marker drawing of a woman sitting in front of a vertical loom. She appears to be dressed in a yellow Ionic chiton held together with pins or buttons down the shoulders and arms. Her hair is gathered back along her neck by a red and white ribbon. She holds some of the warp threads of the weaving in her right hand. An image of a ship on the ocean with sail furled can be seen in the completed portion of the weaving. "Uxor" is written in the upper left of the image.
