Geography of Britain

Bede begins his narrative in Book I, Chapter 1 with a geographic description: "Britain, once called Albion, is an island in the ocean..." This narrated story map includes the Roman roads and provinces as they appeared in the second century, not the seventh, but which still clearly informed Bede's understanding of geography.
