                *νῡν are inferential, translated <emph>therefore, accordingly, so, as it
                    appears,</emph> unaccented <emph>now</emph> or <emph>then.</emph> δή sometimes approaches
                these in meaning (<ref target="file:///x:/Departments/Classics_Texts/schoolgrammarofa00goodrich_porson/HTML%20Files/Chapter-671.html"><emph rend="bold">671 c</emph></ref>).</item>
                
                    <item><emph rend="bold">b.</emph> The syllable τοι- (not the same as *τοι, <ref target="file:///x:/Departments/Classics_Texts/schoolgrammarofa00goodrich_porson/HTML%20Files/Chapter-671.html"><emph rend="bold">671 e</emph></ref>), probably
                        another form of the demonstrative τῷ, as a <emph>with</emph> or <emph>by</emph> dative,
                        appears in *τοί-νυν <emph>accordingly, well then, farther</emph>; also in τοι-γάρ, τοι-γάρ-τοι, τοι-γαρ-οῦν, more strongly inferential, <emph>therefore,
                            and so, for just that reason.</emph> γάρ is here adverbial, the final
                -τοι of τοι-γάρ-τοι is the enclitic (<ref target="file:///x:/Departments/Classics_Texts/schoolgrammarofa00goodrich_porson/HTML%20Files/Chapter-671.html"><emph rend="bold">671 e</emph></ref>).</item></list>
