The Nominative

503. The Nominative case of nouns (or pronouns) is used

  1. As the subject of a finite verb,
  2. In address, for the vocative:

Ζεὺς βασιλεύει.
Zeus is king.

ὦ φίλος εἰπέ.
O friend, speak.
